Programma
Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds (PACs) have been classified as priority toxic substances by the European Commission and PACs frequently determine the need for soil and sediment remediation. Preceding the public defense of the PhD thesis by Miriam Leon Paumen (Invertebrate life cycle responses to PAC exposure Friday February 13th 2009) MilieuChemtox and UvA will organize a symposium on Thursday February 12th 2009 entitled: PAC exposure, effects and risk assessment. National and international well known speakers will address the occurrence, bioavailability and effects of PAC, will discuss the complicated PAC risk management and the evaluation of contaminated sites. Large companies perspectives will be shared with the audience and future research needs will be identified.
